Achievement through Happy Learning

WW2 Liverpool

Lesson: History

Class: Year 5 Year: 2023 - 2024

Year 5 had a fabulous trip to Liverpool to learn more about how WWII affected our city. To begin with they visited Western Approaches a secret underground bunker in the centre of Liverpool. Here they walked through a labyrinth of secret rooms which protected the tactics of the allied forces during WWII. The Operations Room has remained exactly as it was when the doors closed on 15th August 1945! After this, they walked across to the Maritime Museum to complete The Battle of the Atlantic discovery trail. It was a great day out and a wonderful opportunity to learn. Western Approaches is an amazing place to visit: https://liverpoolwarmuseum.co.uk/
