Sam Jalloh's Success Menu
Class: Year 4 Year: 2022 - 2023
The juniors were honoured by a visit from Sam Jalloh, ex-professional tennis player and winner of the 2020 BBC Inspirations Award, who talked to us about his unique and remarkable life story. Sam grew up in worn-torn Sierra Leone and, whilst his totality of his childhood experiences are too harrowing for our children, he was able to tell us about his difficult childhood and how tennis gave him a path to a better life. Sam’s message is very clear - we should all make the most of the wonderful opportunities on offer and the privileges of living in a safe country. School gives every young person the greatest chance of success, yet millions of children around the world are not able to access education. Sam’s story really highlights how every child at Hatton Hill should be in school every day (unless genuinely too sick), making the most of the greatest gift of all, an education. Sam certainly made us all appreciate how very fortunate we are and we thank him for visiting our school. It is a visit we will all remember and we will be sure to think again about his 'Success Receipe'. Thank you to the Liverpool Heartbeat charity for making this possible.
