#kNOwKnifeCrime Fundraising Success
Lesson: PSHE and citizenship
Last year, we took part in a fundraiser for the charity #kNOwKnifeCrime which was founded in memory of Colin McGinty. The amazing contributions from our families, and families right across Sefton, resulted in a tremendous amount of money (£12,059!) being raised enabling the charity to provide bleed control kits for all Sefton schools.
We hope that our bleed kit never needs to see action, but it is reassuring that such lifesaving equipment now sits at the heart of our community. Should a person need assistance for a stab wound, police would be able to direct them to our bleed kit.
The McGinty family expressed their thanks to the many schools who took part in the marathon fundraiser: “Thank you to each and every one of you who made the events last week as fantastic as what they were. The fundraising total is incredible and will make a huge positive impact across our communities. It was amazing to see so many people supporting our campaigns message and helping to keep Colin’s name alive.”
