Christmas Grotto and Fayre
Lesson: British Values
Christmas-themed excitement started with a visit from Father Christmas to our Christmas fayre. The penguin-themed grotto was stunning and the weather gave it an authentic chill. Our children really enjoyed explaining their Christmas wishes to Santa and he was very impressed with how polite Hatton Hill children are. The fayre in the hall was also thoroughly enjoyed with many people commenting on the friendly atmosphere. Such an event takes a great deal of work and I would like to take an opportunity to thank everyone involved. We thank Mr Roscoe (Mrs Roscoe’s husband) for lending us the traditional games which are so much fun! Thank you to all the families who supported us; we appreciated all your kind comments. Thank you to Father Christmas and my colleagues who gave their time so generously during this busy time of year - some colleagues in particular have spent hours on the event mostly at lunchtime, after school and during weekends. Thank you also to Tesco Litherland for donating the very popular hotdogs and buns as well as a beautiful hamper – Tesco are always massively supportive of our events. Together we have raised a very impressive £1772.50 which will be used directly for the children in our school, for example, the infant library was refurbished last year as a direct result of fundraising. I am delighted that we have raised so much money whilst having fun as a community.
